Oh my God, it works! This photo upload was just an experiment, but we’ll leave it for now. HUGE, innit? Anyway, here’s where I was around noon today. T-shirt, shorts, air temp about 65 °F, dry and breezy. Just stunning, really. Every peak you see on the horizon is volcanic. The Rio Grande Gorge in the center drops down 800 ft to the river. Humans have wandered this valley for thousands of years. Now I’m here, and today I walked four miles.

John Hamilton Farr lives in Taos, New Mexico, U.S.A. with his classical pianist wife. “Possibly the only place I can get away with this,” he says. As New York Times best-selling author James C. Moore (Bush’s Brain) put it in a review of John’s first book, “Buffalo Lights is the work of a man attuned to the world who sees it differently than you and I and writes about it with a language and a vision of life that is impossible to ignore.” John is the author of BUFFALO LIGHTS, TAOS SOUL, ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE, and THE HELEN CHRONICLES. He has been publishing online since 1996 (Zoo Zone, Farr Site, MacFaust, GRACK!, FarrFeed) and blogs regularly here at JHFARR.COM. See also → John’s Twitter profile, Amazon Author Page,

This is an awesome photo. Really captures the spaciousness of sky and land. I saw it first on my iPhone where the lines and shadows dominated and it seemed like a great piece of abstract art.

This is so beautiful that I just ordered it from your online store. This is pretty much what I see every time I drive into Taos from the south, and I have a sense of awe every time. No one should take this view for granted. Someday we’ll be able to fill the whole gorge with plastic trash.

That’s the view, all right!
Thanks for your order. You’re the first to place one via SmugMug and the print shop I’ve chosen (WHCC in Minneapolis). I will be very interested in hearing how the order turns out—especially the colors—because I haven’t tried it myself yet. No doubt you’ll let me know.
