All right, here you go: from now on, every JHFARR.COM post image—the big one, anyway—can be yours to hang on your wall. (Except this one, obviously.) I’ve set up a pro account at SmugMug, and you can always access the gallery at the “Buy Photos” link in the nav bar at the top of the page. I’ve also placed “Buy This Photo!” or “Buy This Image!” links at the bottom of every post since Dec. 25, 2012. These take you directly to that post’s featured image purchase options—plain, mounted, fancy, you name it—in all kinds of sizes. The print shop I’ve chosen (for now) is White House Custom Colour in Minneapolis/St. Paul. (Yes, they spell it that way.) They do very high-quality work and charge me more, but I’m holding the line on profit as we try this out.
You can even order coffee mugs! I think they could be quite special matched with the right picture, especially the black ones. The markup on these quite minimal as a present to you all.
Thanks for the update about your SmugMug Page..!! You know, of all the JHFARR email and website pictures that you’ve posted, you have inspired me to get back into photography. I just ordered a Panasonic Lumix G5 from B&H, so I’ve put my Nikon stuff away and starting fresh with Micro 4/3’ds mirror-less. We will see how that goes..!! Thanks so much for your inspiration, vision and wordsmithing…it is all invigorating..!!
I’ve heard a lot of good things about that camera! (You’re making me envious.) As for your generous words, it’s cool to know I did something right. 🙂 As I told someone else recently, you just come on by and comment all you want.
hey, nice…is there a link to your area on smugmug? I can;t find a link on your site…
You’re right, I need to take care of that.
I’m also new to SmugMug and don’t have “everything turned on.” No customizing of my pages yet, no tags, keywords, or captions. But there’s a gallery link in the nav bar (Buy Photos), and you can get there from the post-specific link above.
We’ll see how this goes. Each time I post a photo here, I dump it into SmugMug. Even if I don’t sell much, I have the perfect set-up for creating gifts. 🙂
