There’s Something Going On

Taos Mountain (detail)

More telephoto goodness shot not 200 yards from where I fall over the obvious

Why can’t I do it? Oh, but I can. JUST LOOK AT THAT!

For now I leave you with the mountain and the spoken introduction to a song I just discovered, “Jesus Built My Hotrod,” by Ministry. I wish I could play it for you here. (I found it on Spotify.) Great throbbing bass thrash chrome death music!

Soon I discovered
that this rock thing was true
Jerry Lee Lewis was the devil
Jesus was an architect
previous to his career as a prophet
all of a sudden
I found myself in love with the world
so there was only one thing that I could do
was ding a ding dang
my dang a long ling long

And then, BOOM BANGAWANGA BOOM-BOOM BANGAWANGA for five whole minutes on mostly one chord! I haven’t played this for my wife yet, because I love her.

Oh Gawd, just checked it out on youTube, I’m still in recovery and I didn’t even turn up the sound too much. There’s enough of the old rocker in me to appreciate what you dig but yes, JH, don’t inflict it on your wife. Just as well you coupled it with a pretty picture of them thar mountains!

Hi Gillian! I must have been tired when I posted this, because I never even thought of YouTube, duh. Just as well, though, or I’d have posted the video at 900 pixels wide. Grand brain-wiping noise, though, ain’t it? As I just replied to @SJRivera on Twitter, “It’s frickin’ beautiful. Takes all my brain waves & rearranges them in a straight line to hell.”
